Bhutan and Nepal are two of the world’s last frontiers! February 2011 – Morocco
This country, with its different way of life – so exotic and colorful, and hospitable – is closer to the USA than any other nation on the African continent. Wow! You’ve heard of the cities…like Casablanca, Fes, Marrakech, Agadir, and Rabat. The country has all the extremes: desert, the Atlas Mountains, an abundance of gardens and parks, clear blue skies above an azure sea, long white beaches, rocky coves, and palm groves. The minarets and mosques of older cities such as Fes and Marrakech reflect the continuing vitality of old world customs and a style of life that has long disappeared in other parts of the world. Their old medinas, with their crowded, noisy, narrow, and winding streets are both fascinating and ‘mystical’! The Kasbahs, with their turreted walls and towers, recall a courageous and romantic past! Guests on this tour will see and experience all the major sights…plus…enjoy some “different” types of activities such as a balloon ride…a “hands-on” cooking demonstration…and, a view of the countryside from the top of a camel…! Plan now to come with us as we explore this intriguing country!
May 2011 –Northern Italy
In the spring of 2011, we’re going back to one of our most requested (and favorite!) regions: northern Italy! There is just something ‘unique’ about walking the cobblestone alleys and pathways along the canals of Venice…..and sailing in a boat along the shores of Lake Como as you pass by the beautiful villas built up on the hills…..and searching for the perfect cappuccino in one of the sidewalk cafes in Portofino…..or, visiting the hill-towns of Cinque Terre…..or, staring at Michelangelo’s statue of David at the Academia in Florence and seeing a work of art that has lasted centuries…..or, standing in the oval piazza in Siena and imagining what it must be like during the annual horse races…..now, add to that amazing food, great wines, and the classic vistas of the Italian countryside…..and you’ve got it! Traveling with our own van and driver, we’ll experience northern Italy ‘up close and personal’…..the way you’ve come to expect when touring with Winger Travel!
Since many of these tours have limited membership, we encourage you to contact us ‘sooner rather than later’ if you think you can join us on one of these adventures!! We look forward to hearing from you soon! |
